Starting early....

When I was a teenager I remember our youth groups going to Juvenile Delinquent, Convalescent Homes, Boys Ranch.  We went gave testimonies, sang and ministered to them.  We were taught to give of our time, heart and become bold.  We didn't just have pizza parties and play church.  We went and knocked on doors inviting people to church.  It was hard because I was shy but I knew it needed to be done.  It did help bring me out of my shell.

I loved our youth group and what God was doing through us.  I learned so much about ministry.  We would usually go on Sunday afternoon between services.  We were always welcomed and you could see God doing great things.

I believe that a youth have't to be taught not just told what to do.  They need to be required to do for others and be involved if they are going to be a next generation of world changers.  Load them up in a van and take them to minister to the elderly.  Love the kids that are in trouble.  Feed the homeless.  Help a single Mom with her yard.  Whatever is needed they need to learn at a young age to not be selfish but selfless in God's Kingdom.

So thankful for the teaching I received and Godly life I was shown.  To be the hands, feet, and voice of God.

Summer days of Youth

I remember being little.  Maybe about 5 or 6 years old.  I loved playing outside.  I was a bit of a tom boy.  I loved to play in the dirt and mud.  We were poor so I didn't have alot but I knew how to use my imagination.

I would take the old metal wash tub and fill it up and that was my pool...hahahaha.  Back then the AOG Church were very strict and you weren't allowed to wear a swim suit.  So I didn't even learn to swim.  I didn't even own a swim suit but I would wait till Daddy went to work then throw on my slip and go outside and get in the tub.  I loved it. lolol

Later on I learned to just dig a hole in the ground and fill it up.  lol

We had Chickens, dogs running around.  I would gather them and have a grand ole time with them.  Rather playing house, church, or store....I played with the animals.  My sisters were all grown and I had no one to play with so...I utilized the nature around me.

I remember I really loved rocks.  I would go rock collecting and have a bag full, bring it in, next day I would go outside and see similar rocks as I had collected the day before.  Finally he dawned on me that Momma was dumping them back in the yard.....lolol Ugh! hahaha

I loved watching Batman and Robin...sooooo....I would put Momma's apron around my shoulders and jump on my bike and off I would go on an adventure.

Yes life was so full of creative adventure then.  I cherish those times even though I was a bit lonely, Nature, animals and God always had a way of spicing things up.
