When I was a teenager I remember our youth groups going to Juvenile Delinquent, Convalescent Homes, Boys Ranch. We went gave testimonies, sang and ministered to them. We were taught to give of our time, heart and become bold. We didn't just have pizza parties and play church. We went and knocked on doors inviting people to church. It was hard because I was shy but I knew it needed to be done. It did help bring me out of my shell.
I loved our youth group and what God was doing through us. I learned so much about ministry. We would usually go on Sunday afternoon between services. We were always welcomed and you could see God doing great things.
I believe that a youth have't to be taught not just told what to do. They need to be required to do for others and be involved if they are going to be a next generation of world changers. Load them up in a van and take them to minister to the elderly. Love the kids that are in trouble. Feed the homeless. Help a single Mom with her yard. Whatever is needed they need to learn at a young age to not be selfish but selfless in God's Kingdom.
So thankful for the teaching I received and Godly life I was shown. To be the hands, feet, and voice of God.
